General Osteoapthy


Osteopathy can help with the following common conditions:

acute or chronic low back pain (except from trauma and accidental injuries), sciatica, Arthritic and rheumatic  pain, Circulatory problems, General aches and pains in joints or the back during pregnancy and after delivery, Digestion problems, Frozen shoulder/ shoulder and elbow pain/ tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) arising from associated musculoskeletal conditions of the back and neck), Headache arising from the neck (cervicogenic), Joint pains, General, Generalised aches and pains, Lumbago, Migraine prevention, Minor sports injuries, Muscle spasms and cramps, Neuralgia (nerve pain, such as sciatica), Tension and inability to relax.

Maternity

Preparation to pregnancy: Also to make sure you have a good regulation of pressure between chest abdomen and pelvis allowing for a good circulation to and from uterus. Finally postural and exercises advises in order to keep your muscles strong throughout the pregnancy and for preparation to delivery. 

Maternity: to help your body carry a baby it needs to be able to expand and move freely to allow for growth of baby and uterus and give maximum space to the surrounding organs. to help releases aches and pains in your joints due the weight increase and the change of physiology and posture. Giving you postural and exercises advises in order to keep your muscles strong throughout the pregnancy and for preparation to delivery.
Osteopaths are trained to screen for medical conditions and will tell you if you need to see your doctor or your midwife.

Post pregnancy: to release stresses and strains accumulated during and after delivery. I work with a team of Doulas, night midwives, lactation consultants, paediatricians, psychologists/ counsellors and women's health physiotherapists to follow you and support you, your baby and your family for any issues you may encounter.

Osteopathy for Children

Alexia uses a wide range of different techniques including functional and cranial approaches. The cranial techniques are safe, gentle, and non-manipulative. They are often used when treating young children and newborn infants.
Alexia has been working for years in the field of paediatric Osteopathy, suitable for children at all stages of development.

Parents regularly report improvement in complaints such as:

digestive and feeding issues, irritable babies, mechanical issues turning head mainly to one side, sleeping disorder, Colic, Sickness and wind Crying babies, sleeping problems, recurrent ear infection, sinus congestion, Behavioural problems.

 I work with a team of Doulas, night midwives, lactation consultants, paediatricians, psychologists/ counsellors and women's health physiotherapists to follow you and support you, your baby and your family for any issues you may encounter.

Sports Injury

Alexia qualified as specialised Sports Osteopath, Montpellier, France in 2008 (Osteopathe du Sport). She was the osteopath for Team GB Handball senior Men’s Team from 2009 until 2013 and Women’s team from 2011 to 2012. She had the honour to be the accredited medical staff and Osteopath for Team GB Handball Men at the London 2012 Olympic Games. She can help you in planning your training and integrating pre habilitation and preventive osteopathic treatments into your training regime as well as rehabilitation after injury.
